In paid paid version you select the working size from: 800, 1024, 1600 and 2048 sizes. Photos are handled and saved or emailed at selected resolution. Emailed photos from inside the application are not resized to 800x600 as regular iPhone email application does.

Note on iPod Touch: since iPod Touch doesnt have camera, you will be able to retouch only pictures downloaded from the WEB or synched using iTunes.
